For the second year, we’re hanging out with the creative trio behind Folder Records. Built on friendship, emotion, and a shared love for sound, Folder keeps evolving as a space where electronic music feels alive — experimental, instinctive, and deeply connected. More than a label, it’s a world of its own, where genres meet, ideas flow, and every track tells a story.

Last year you told us your story. What has changed since then?

[Parallelle] More music has come out, more artists, more bangers. And still the same essence, the archive of analog sensation. The smooth groove for the dance floor. 

[Mâhfoud] Establishing the label more and pulling in more creative ideas, expanding the vision and having more fun in the process!  

FOLDER is now in its second year. What does that mean to you?

This collection is about the analogue world — unplugged, off-grid, real. What does that mean in your day-to-day life?

[Parallelle] We believe with all the new technology, the artificiality of content, media, computing, etc... The tangible vintage is becoming exponentially important in order to keep the feet on the ground and in knowing what is real. You see a big surge of analogue cameras, the vinyl is back on trend, who knows maybe, people will bring back the cassette player soon. We believe, it always feels good to hold something creative in your hands. 

[Mâhfoud] It’s the only thing that matters, the digital world is noisy, distracting, functional and sometimes helpful. I like tactile objects and passing them on, keeping them, collecting them and give them more meaning over time. Not sure you can do that with a digital file.

[Parallelle] The new remix of Sunshine in My Pocket from SDK, out on Folder on 13th June!

[Mâhfoud] G-Man, Quo Vadis…late 90s minimal jam. Love that!

Guilty pleasures — still the same, or any new additions?

[Parallelle - Thomas] This one you’ll like, just got my grand dad’s old Singer sewing machine, and started pimping my clothes ;) 
[Parallelle - Julien] In the meantime, I had a daughter, so dancing and playing music with her is my new addiction.

[Mâhfoud] I am on a strict no ice cream diet now, so no guilty pleasures lol
