Can you tell us your story so far?
I was born in Bahia in 1982, but at 3 months old, I was already in Rio de Janeiro. I grew up in Jardim Botânico, a place that shaped much of my essence. I followed in my brother's footsteps during childhood, driven by a passion for skateboarding and surfing, enjoying every moment outdoors with friends. As the youngest of three siblings, I always sought to find my place among them.
At the age of 8, influenced by skate culture, I had my first contact with the arts, especially carpentry, building skate ramps with leftover wood found on the streets. This experience awakened a talent for creation within me.
I started my studies in architecture, but after six months, I realized I wanted something different and shifted my focus to product design at PUC-Rio. During college, I won design awards and, along with friends, founded a design studio called "Da Garagem," from where I gradually transitioned into the arts.
In the artistic scene of Rio, I am recognized for my influence in the alternative movement, founding the music collective Shibalove and conceptualizing Casa Fosco, a space that welcomed over 30 artists over eight years. This old house in Joá was collaboratively renovated and became a true creative home, where we held exhibitions and events that blended art, surfing, music, and cinema.
I worked as a creative director for several fashion brands and founded a footwear brand called @undofortomorrow. I also participated in exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, Lisbon, and Barcelona, where I studied exhibition design.
After my ex-wife moved to Lisbon with our daughter Amália, I had the opportunity to spend six years in the city, where I faced various personal challenges that helped me grow.
Today, I'm back in Brazil, dedicating myself to my 8-year-old daughter, the arts, and creative projects with @undofortomorrow, among other partners, living each moment with intensity and passion.
After 20 years in the market, I like to identify myself as a creative permaculturist, balancing my dedication to art, music, surfing, carpentry, and, of course, my daughter.
Next Steps:
I am currently focused on artistic production, with plans to organize exhibitions and residencies around the world. I have returned to studying arts at Parque Lage and I’m working on a surfboard project and some films.
Best Spots in Portugal:
I love camping in the south of Portugal and have some favorite spots in Peniche, like Almagreira and Belgas.
What does style mean to you?
It is a natural expression; you don’t invent or copy it—unless you're an actor.
What motivated you to get started with your business?
I am an restless person filled with ideas, and I believe that’s what shaped me into who I am.
What’s the band/music style/music artist that inspires you?
I'm quite eclectic. I went through phases of rock in childhood, reggae in adolescence, and progressive rock jazz. I enjoy well-played instrumental music that makes me want to dance. Currently, I listen a lot to Jorge Ben, Caetano Veloso, Sessa, Radiohead, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, and others.
Any guilty pleasures worth mentioning?
Chocolate and mushrooms.
